A Double Donation for the Saskatchewan Children’s Hospital Foundation

AREVA donated $10,000 to the Cameco-MBC Radio-A-Thon for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan on September 21, 2012. By donating during this radio-a-thon, AREVA’s gift has double the impact, as Cameco matched all gifts that day.

With nine AREVA facilities in 6 Canadian cities and three provinces, community involvement is a key focus of AREVA’s 10 Commitments to Sustainable Development. These commitments guide the company in achieving growth that is not only profitable, but also socially responsible and respectful of the environment.

AREVA’s corporate giving strategy was developed with these Sustainable Development commitments in mind and in such a way as to achieve maximum impact to both the community and corporate goals by focusing on three key areas: education, culture and environment, and human service programs. Our active involvement in these areas ensures support and opportunities for employee volunteers and contributions to help improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work.

We are pleased to support the work of the Children’s Hospital Foundation in building a state-of-the art children’s hospital in Saskatchewan. The Radio-a-thon raised more than $545,000 and construction of the hospital is planned to start in 2014.
